Habitat and Geographic Distribution: Plains and savannahs of West Africa.
Diet: Frugivorous and Granivorous. They feed on fruits, seeds and grains. They also eat carob pods and the shoots on young trees.
Reproduction: They nest in the cavities of trees. Females lay 3 to 4 eggs that they incubate for 27 days; the young become fully independent at 12 weeks.
Behaviour: It is a bird that requires attention, if they feel lonely they tend to isolate themselves or even become stressed.
Conservation Status: Least Concern (IUCN), Appendix II (CITES).
