Silvery-Cheeked Hornbill

Habitat and Geographical Distribution: Evergreen forests of East Africa to South Africa. Prefers thorny bushes and arid environments.

Diet: Omnivorous. Fruits, small insects and small vertebrates (rodents, small reptiles, etc.)

Reproduction: Oviparous. During courting, the male offers the female food. The nest is sealed by the couple, leaving only a vertical fissure, this access is for the male to feed the female inside the nest.

Behaviour: Generally live in pairs, sometimes gather in flocks of hundreds of individuals.

Conservation status: Least Concerning (IUCN)
